Bonding

Dental Bonding Bonding is a conservative procedure that does not necessarily require removing any of the tooth's natural surfaces. A tooth-colored material is adhered (bonded) to the teeth to fill in gaps, chips, and cracks or to hide discoloration. Bonding material is easily matched to the natural color of your teeth.  Bonding does have limitations.  Over time, bonded teeth may stain or lose their luster; a touch-up will periodically be required.  When used to repair or lengthen the edges of upper or lower front teeth, bonding materials will often chip due to the lack of “edge strength”.  (See our photo gallery for examples.)

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers Veneers mimic the life-like vitality and natural beauty of teeth.  Additionally, porcelain veneers do not absorb stains or lose their lustrous finish.  Porcelain veneers can substantially strengthen teeth that have been worn from trauma and/or tooth clenching.  A thin layer of porcelain, called a veneer, slips over the front of the tooth, making it appear straight, white, and attractive.  Veneer placement requires little removal of tooth structure. Veneers often strengthen teeth that have been worn or previously filled. Veneers are long lasting and extremely natural looking. They are one of the quickest ways to achieve your dream smile!  Dr. Kotlarek has the experience and intimate understanding of ceramics and bonding agents that uniquely enable him to mask the appearance of dark unsightly teeth.  Once you’ve made the decision to enhance your appearance with porcelain veneers…you have choices.  Many different ceramic materials can be used,  feldspathic porcelain, E-max, zirconia and Empress…  ask us which material will deliver the best result for your smile.   If you are looking for a strong, safe, durable method to quickly achieve a beautiful smile, consider this option.

Zoom “Laser” Whitening
Zoom Whitening "Laser" whitening is a powerful technique that removes stains and brightens your teeth to achieve the level of whiteness seen in youth.  Teeth can become dull, dingy, or discolored for a number of reasons. "Laser" whitening is done in our office, usually in about an hour. The procedure is safe and effective - we simply paint the bleaching agent onto your teeth and use a special light to activate it. You will be amazed at the difference the Zoom whitening system can make in brightening your smile and your overall appearance. For more information about whitening, please contact us today!

Enamel Contouring

ContouringThe reshaping of worn, chipped, crooked or sharp-edged teeth can dramatically enhance a smile.  An ultra-fine diamond polishing instrument is used to dress-up, round and soften severe angles that develop   on the edges and corners of teeth from the wear and tear of daily chewing.  This service combined with bonding and whitening can dramatically improve the vitality and youthfulness of a smile.  Enamel  contouring… a simple dental procedure that produces stunning results.  (Look at the results in our smile gallery.)

Silver filling Replacement     (Silverfilling.jpg)

Silver Filling ReplacementDo you have silver (amalgam, mercury) fillings that show when you laugh or smile?  In Houston, Texas at Roman Dental we can take care of that.  When we laugh and smile… that’s when friends and lovers focus their attention on our faces.  Don’t let unsightly teeth detract from the moment.  Large silver fillings have no adhesive properties, under biting pressure amalgam fillings  can  act as wedges causing teeth to fracture.  These dark fillings can be replaced with porcelain onlays, porcelain veneers, or with all ceramic crowns.  These options protect and strengthen teeth against fracture and possible tooth loss.  Small silver (dental amalgam) fillings can simply be replaced with tooth-colored (composite) filling materials.

Gumline Correction  (Crown Lengthening & Grafting)

Gumline CorrectionAn uneven “gum line” can detract from an otherwise beautiful smile.  Some people show too much gum tissue when the smile (“gummy Smile”) others may have overgrown gums that cover the upper portion of the teeth making them appear short.  Gum line irregularities usually are not the result of gum (periodontal) disease and can be easily corrected.   These corrections often are very comfortably corrected and heal quickly because they often involve only the soft tissue surrounding the teeth.  Let us evaluate your unique situation; Dr. Kotlarek often performs this service with a dental laser, creating little discomfort and very rapid healing.
